How To Add Style To Your Outdoor Space So You Can Be The Envy Of Your Block

I have three, very energetic dogs.  Sometimes they are just exhausting.

Obviously right?

Every morning my husband and I take them for a walk, and then I sneak downstairs to my studio to try to work on my portfolio. However, the minute I come upstairs, they are raring to go!  In fact, anytime of day, they are at the ready to go outside and play.

The game of choice is fetch.  So, I am outside, in my backyard, alot.

Given that fetch is not as mentally stimulating for me as it is for my dogs, I spend my time looking around the backyard deciding how I am going to change it up.

Each new season brings a chance to express your style.  It's a little like putting an outfit together--it's an opportunity to showcase your favorite trends, and now that it's summer and warm days and nights are in abundance, everyone wants to hang out outside.

When I think Summer, I think nature.  Adding huge pots of colorful flowers is one way I incorporate natural elements to my outdoor space.  Wave petunias are super easy to grow and come in variety of colors.

Throw pillows in trending summer hues like Living Coral, Royal Blue, Moss Green and Jester Red add a punch of color.  Boho is back too and giant outdoor floor pillows fit the festival season vibe.

Add to that with twinkle lights and lanterns.  They boost the style of your space and you can find twinkle lights in fun shapes like stars or dragon flies.

Looking for a little privacy and want to create a cabana feel, then add some outdoor drapes in fun florals and beach-y patterns.

Cool artsy sling chairs for the patio are comfy and colorful and then coordinate or contrast with a colorful rug that ties the entire space together.

I would love to see how you've made your outdoor space more colorful if you use my suggestions or products.  Snap a pic and send it to me and you might just end up on my website!!
