This is from a flower series taken at the gardens of a woman who grows and germinates her own variety of Day Lilies. It was actually in her backyard and she allowed me to come in and take pictures. I loved the colors of this one.

Water lilies are another one of those flowers that I seem to gravitate to.  This flower was not growing in a natural pond.  It was actually growing in a reflection pool in a sculpture garden.  I liked the way the pink flower, jumped out off the dark water that was reflecting the pool.

Water lilies are a popular subject for me. I think I am fascinated by how they grow in the dark water and are so vibrant. They have a short season too, so you have to short window to view them.

Dahlias are another favorite flower I love to shoot.  The color variety is always amazing.  Here is a bud that I came across.  I found the way the different sized petals were shooting out very interesting.

I am obsessed with ombre, and what I love about this image is the way the color of the flower creates a natural ombre from yellow to orange.  Nature is amazing sometimes.

Dogwood trees are another flowering tree that has such a short blooming period.  You have to catch them while you can.

As you can see some from of my work, I went through a "texture" phase.  I added textured backgrounds and filters on my work.

Everyone always goes for the most beautiful flowers possible, but I love to go to the garden when things are starting fade off. I captured this one while on vacation in the Dominican Republic.

Dhalia's are a favorite subject of mine. I like the layers of petals. I also like capturing them in every stage.
